Beykoz University paid a Cooperation Visit to the Glass Furnace Foundation

Beykoz University’s academic and administrative staff visited the Glass Furnace Foundation for getting to know art of glassblowing, a unique symbol of Beykoz district, and starting collaboration. The Board of Trustees’ Member Muharrem Ergül, Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Durman, General Secretary Murat Şentürk, Art and Design Faculty’s Dean Prof. Dr. Nüket Güz, Communication and Design Department’s Lecturer Prof. Dr. Gürol Sözen, Corporate Communication Director Melike Tümen, Administrative Affairs Director Erkan Özmen and University Communication Consultant Derya Aslan represented Beykoz University and the Founder Yılmaz Yalçınkaya, Board of Trustees’ Member Elif Yalçınkaya Kariş and General Director Hakan Kanca represented the Glass Furnace Foundation on this visit.

The following issues were discussed on the visit organized for establishing cooperation between the university and foundation:

 - Creating 14-week elective course contents for Beykoz University students and including this course on 2018-2019 Fall Semester selective courses curriculum,

- Organizing glass workshops and trainings on Beykoz Development (Life Long Learning) Center,

- Doing researches on the art of glass,

- Organizing workshops for introducing the art of glass to the foreign students of the university (for example opening summer schools),

- Designing corporate social responsibility projects,

- Designing and producing corporate souvenirs for Beykoz University that is name after the district where it is located.

Furthermore, the parties brainstormed about projects and cooperation to be launched in the future. The visit ended after seeing the workshops, getting to know art of glass and reviewing activities.
