University Research Laboratory [ÜniAr] has published "Academic Ecology: Universities 2020 through Academicians’ Eyes". Research covered 126 state and 68 foundation universities in Turkey. In the research conducted with the participation of 16 thousand 624 academicians from 194 universities in total, the data were obtained using the "Academic Ecology Survey". The scale items in the study were prepared by the researchers in a questionnaire style for the academicians to evaluate the universities they work in. Beykoz University has become one of the leading universities in the research.
Ranked 5th among 68 Foundation Universities
In the survey conducted "Academic Ranking of Universities General Ecology" within the research, in over 194 universities in Turkey, Beykoz University ranked as 9 and has achieved a considerable success among 68 private universities by ranking as 5th.
11 different titles were presented to the academicians to evaluate the universities they worked in. These titles; Academic Freedom, Management Satisfaction, Burnout and Unhappiness, In-Institution Collaboration, External Cooperation, Academic Culture and Support, Discomfort from Political Engagement in Management, Teaching Quality, Sense of Loyalty and Loyalty to the University, Relational Toxicity (Gossip, Jealousy, Mobbing) and Commercialization in the research.
12th in Academic Freedom
In the survey conducted called "Academic Freedom Ranking of Universities" Beykoz University ranked as 20 of 194 universities in Turkey universities, and among 68 private universities, it ranked as 12th University.
Academicians’ trust their institutions’ management, the management’s ability to respond to the demands of management in the operation of the process, also the satisfaction of the administrative functioning of the transparency and management of the justice level were also measured under the title of "Management's Satisfaction Ranking of Universities", Beykoz University Ranked as 12th among all universities in Turkey, while among private universities, it was ranked as 7th.
University with High Motivation and Happiness Potential
In the research where the "Burnout Sense and Unhappiness Ranking of the Universities" was made; Beykoz University ranked as # 160 among all universities in Turkey, while in private universities it ranked as 48th. Thus, Beykoz University ranked 35th among universities with high motivation and happiness potential, and 16th among foundation universities.
3rd in Academic Culture and Support
This research in which the academicians were asked about the universities which care for academic culture and find it valuable, in the survey "Academic Ranking of Universities of Culture and Support", Beykoz University ranked as 10th among 194 universities in Turkey; and ranked as 3rd among 68 Foundation Universities.
20th in Teaching Quality Ranking
Beykoz University ranked at the level of "Universities with No Negative Reflection of Political Engagement in Administration and No Discrimination on Academics" in the study, in which the "Disturbance Ranking of Universities due to Political Engagement in Management" was also made. University ranked as 182 in "Discomfort in Political Engagement " in 194 universities in Turkey, and ranked 60th in the 68 Foundation Universities.
Beykoz University ranked 29th among all universities and 20th among foundation universities by academicians among “Universities Perceived as High Quality of Education”.
Low Commercialization Perception Regarding University
The study also asked whether foundation universities behave as commercial organizations in both academic and social perceptions, although there are no private universities for profit purposes in our country. Beykoz University was ranked 45th among foundation universities in the "Commercialization Ranking in Foundation Universities" and among the universities with a "Low Perception of Commercialization Regarding Their Universities".
