What is English Placement Test (Beykoz PLET)?
It is an exam for the registered students in the Preparatory Program. It is given at the beginning of the academic year and students English level is assessed., Classes are designed according to the results of this exam.
When and How Will the Placement Exam be Conducted?
It will be held face to face on October 4, 2021 at 10 am at Kavacık Preparatory Campus. There is NO ONLINE EXAM option. (If you have an excuse, please contact us via e-mail: didemavci@beykoz.edu.tr / yesimkurhan@beykoz.edu.tr)
Who should take the exam?
Students who have studied English but do not have proficiency, who think they are at one of the levels such as A1-A2-B1 and want it to be assessed, should take the exam. In addition, this exam is a prerequisite for taking the BEYKOZ-PROF exam, which is the ENGLISH PROFICIENCY EXAM. Students who think that his/her English language proficiency is sufficient to pass the preparatory class directly should take this exam and complete at least 30 net points, and then be eligible to take the Beykoz PROF exam.
What Happens If I Don't/Can't Take the Exam?
All students who did/could not take the exam are assigned to classes at A1 (beginner) level. No English proficiency is assumed.
NOTE: Students who want to continue the preparatory class starting from the A1 level DO NOT NEED TO take the Beykoz-PLET/ Placement Exam.
What should I pay attention to come to the exam?
• In order to manage a healthy process, we expect our students to be vaccinated first.
- PCR Test results will be requested from our unvaccinated students.
• There is a mask requirement inside the building (before and during the exam).
• Student number (ID card or Student Number information given at registration)
• Bring your Identity Card (Identity Card)
• Bring a pencil and an eraser
How long will the exam take?
The exam will take 2 hours. There are multiple choice questions and a Writing Part. However, students who finish the exam early will be allowed to leave the hall after the first 30 minutes.
How will I check the exam results?
The exam results will be available on the OIS Student Information Platform. (After 5 pm on 5 October 2021)
