Collaboration of Wits and Wires: Unlocking the Opportunities of AI in Curriculum Development
Consideration and integration of artificial intelligence in curriculum development was the focus of this year's FOCI-Turkey meeting. Transforming and changing curricula is becoming an increasingly important issue in ELT (English Language Teaching) and requires various solutions and contemporary actions.
These meetings provided participants with the opportunity to explore topics such as possible ways and benefits of applying AI in curriculum development; EFL teaching and assessment as well as discussing current concerns; ethical issues of using AI and the role of all stakeholders. In addition, the sessions in the training brought up many positive experiences of using AI in ELT, as well as exploring AI as a useful and effective tool for teaching, assessing and planning academic courses.
This year, FOCI-Turkey was hosted by Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University on December 15-16, 2023. More than 36 higher education institutions participated in the training.
