Purpose of the Program
First and Emergency Aid Technicians (Paramedic), who form an important part of pre-hospital emergency health services and hospital emergency services, can perform up-to-date and scientific first and emergency aid applications to patients and / or injured patients, starting from the scene of the incident and the main treatment of the sick and injured in the hospital emergency services. Assistant healthcare personnel who can provide life-saving medical intervention opportunities in the period until the patients’ main treatment is performed.
Emergency medical technicians needed by emergency health services have been trained in our country since 1993, with changing names. Since the establishment of Beykoz University First and Emergency Aid Program in 2017, within the scope of the Vocational School, a 2-year associate degree education in the First and Emergency Aid Program, students are trained in emergency aid and rescue work, emergency patient care, bleeding control, vascular access and some basic drug applications. In addition, they are trained by expert academics in the fields of rescue, equipment uses, behavioral sciences that support body and body development, and they can work in disasters and difficult conditions.
The First and Emergency Aid Program, which is a 2-year associate degree program, accepts students with TYT score. Program students study with the 3 + 1 Model. With this model, our students complete competency courses, core courses, occupational field specialization courses in 3 semesters of 4 semesters, which are the duration of the program, and in the last 1 semester they receive practical training at 112, Command Control Center or hospital emergency services within the body of Emergency Health Services.
If graduated students succeed in the Vertical Transfer Exam, they can transfer to 4-year bachelor programs of universities or complete their bachelor degree education at a university abroad.
Working Areas of Graduates
First and Emergency Aid Program graduates work as ambulance and emergency care technicians, emergency medical technicians, medical personnel in emergency aid and patient transport ambulances, call reception staff in command and control centers, and medical personnel in hospital emergency services. These personnel take part as the drivers of the ambulance vehicle when necessary.
