We continued Heath, Safety and Security Conversations with the topic of “Advanced Driving Techniques" under the coordination of our University’s Occupational Health and Safety Department and Occupational Health and Safety Club organized jointly with Heath, Safety and Security Group. Our guest in our conversation was Mr. Mert İNTEPE, Founder of Adex Academy, Road and Driving Safety Specialist.Talking about the basics of Advanced Driving Techniques in our conversation, Mr. Mert mentioned the traffic accidents that occurred in a year. He stated that 90% of traffic accidents are caused by people and that is the result of the studies. He emphasized that as a result of the deaths of people in traffic accidents, we should be conscious about driving and pay particular attention to the studies done. Mr. Mert stating that this situation is due to the not wearing seat belts in the front seat, added that one seat belt can carry a weight of about 3.5 tons, talked about the important role in the continuity of the life by the seat belt. He stated that the seat belt is not used in the studies and that it is vital to wear the seat belt in the back seat. Emphasizing the importance, use and functions of a good tire, Mr. Mert stated that in this case, each technology is very important for us and that we need to change the traffic behavior and our safety culture in traffic. Mentioning that we need to change our perception of security at some points, Mr. Mert emphasized that we should be able to analyze in a proactive thought and that there is no small mistake in traffic, learning traffic psychology will greatly benefit us.
